Tim Walker in British Vogue

I bought April's British Vogue the other day and I did it for the spreads (and I'm not talking jam and peanut butter) one in particular appealed to my kooky sensibilities, photographer Tim Walker did an awesome job.

What's up with that umbrella, how is it even staying up there, and why? (Those are the big questions).

I like the dollishness of this one, though it has nothing on the next one.

Barbie gone wrong. It's amazing how unreal and, yes, all made out of plastic she looks behind that bubble.

Patron Goddess of Clowns. Love it. This one was actually a two pager but my scanner wasn't big enough. The other page had a big parrot on it, which you can see in another shot further down.

This ones prettier than the others with the ruffly top and pink smoke, that combined with the surrealist setting is what makes it for me.

 Another doll.

And here's that parrot, what a beauty.

This isn't the entire spread but it's my faves, hope you like them too.

Annie Leibovitz

It feels like I'm constantly tired at the moment, I think it's all the rain we've been getting (in SE Queensland). I'm not even pre-writing this in Word like I normally do.

So the other day I was having coffee with my parents and my dad was reading the newspaper. Suddenly a picture in the paper caught my eye it was Queen Latifah as Ursula from Disney's The Little Mermaid photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
Now I had seen these pictures before and many other Leibovitz beauties but it was a while ago and I'd forgotten all about them (shame on me). But now I have done a considerable google search and saved numerous photographs to post here when the time arises...

The time has arisen!
Here are a few of my faves for your enjoyment.

Alice in Wonderland, Vogue, featuring Natalia Vodianova.

Beauty and the Beast, Vogue April 2005, featuring Drew Barrymore.

Snow White, Disney Dreams collection, featuring Alec Baldwin and Olivia Wilde. (Alec Baldwin heehee)

Romeo and Juliet, Vogue, featuring Coco Rocha and Roberto Bolle.

The Wizard of Oz, Vogue, featuring Keira Knightly. (Wish I'd found this two weeks ago.)

Paolo Roversi: Family Circus

A editorial spread from W Magazine photographed by Paolo Roversi.

This one makes me think of Narnia.

And this one makes me think of the bit in Alice in Wonderland when the baby turns into a big.

I really love Paolo Roversi, his photo's are amazing. This particular spread, while not based on any myth or legend in particular has this essence of fantasy and mystery and other worldliness that I find very engaging. You've just gotta love Paolo Roversi.
