Consolidation

I've decided to begin discussing my Etsy store, Hearsay on this blog. I think it's still relevant because my jewellery and accessories are, in there own way, visions of whimsy.

For those of you who are avid readers of this blog and don't just skim through the pretty pictures (no judging, I do it too) you may remember roughly a year ago I had this big back and forth about whether to include my Hearsay stuff on this blog or whether to create a new one. Well this is the last back (or forth depending on how you look at it) and I'm sticking to it... hopefully.

So, yes, this does mean a few changes, good changes, marvelous changes!

By Howard Pyle, 1911.
The most obvious change will be posts about the development of my label.

I've currently got a new accessories collection in the works. Originially I was thinking nymphs and oceanids would be the inspiration for the range but it soon switched to mermaids and pirates much like those in the Howard Pyle painting above. I love Howard Pyle's pirate and mermaid paintings, especially his use of colour. I have his The Mermaid over in this post.

The Mermaids Mirror Necklace
One of the necklaces under construction was inspired by the notion that Mermaids are frequently seen preening and looking at themselves in mirrors. Norman Lindsay's mermaid etching found in one of my mermaid posts played a big part in the conceptualization of this necklace.

I've been keeping a pinterest board of all the images that fit the theme and vibe of this collection and have started to recognise a recurring colour palette of deep green blues and dusty faded reds.

Now available in red!

*This collection is now complete and you cam find many of the items in store on Etsy.
