I’ve been meaning to buy some succulents for ages and today I finally headed to the market and picked up two little cuties. I love them so much I’ve decided to try my hand at propagating a few maybe succulent growing could be my new hobby. I’m not the only one loving succulents at the moment, they’re quite the lingering trend. Here a few gorgeous succulent pins that inspired me over on Pinterest.

Life Instyle Wrap Up

Life Instyle was the biggest and longest market I've ever been a part of. Filling both levels of the Carlton Exhibition Building, the physical size of this show was astounding. Walking around it for the four days of the event was exhausting but a real treat. The stalls were beautifully designed and the products inside them were even more delightful.

The Exhibition Building is beautiful, a really great space to spend four days. It also hosts the Finders Keepers Market and the Big Design Market.

On the first night of the show we were treated to celebratory champagne. My neighbouring stallholders and I let down our hair and got to know each other.

One of the best parts of Life Instyle is at the end of the last day when you can run around like a mad person and pick up a few things for yourself.

The Reading Corner

When I moved to Melbourne at the beginning of the year I only brought a limited selection of reading material with me. Two boxes and my Kindle to be precise. Now ever since I succumbed to the  E-book I've ignored my vast collection of unread texts. Instead of back-reading I purchased any novel or short story that took fancy without a moment's hesitation. Not anymore.

                 I once read somewhere that you should alternate between reading an old book and a new book in order to push through the backlog people inevitably acquire. In order to avoid buying any new novels I'm going to take "new" to mean written in the last twenty years and "old" to mean written any time before that. You can take it however you choose. "Old" could mean a book you already own, and "new" one you don't. But since my goal is to finish all the (fiction) books in my house and already on my Kindle before buying anything else I'm going to take it the other way.

What follows are the all the fiction I have available to me under these rules divided into read, half read and unread. I was going to accompany the titles with book covers but the lists turned out to be a lot longer than I realised so only selected covers will be included.

I love H.G. Wells and his old school Sci Fi. The Time Machine is well worth a read as well.

Something that should make this challenge a little easier is that my tablet has broken rendering my Kindle inaccessible (it's already spread across too many devises). So I won't even be tempted to buy a new book on a whim... scratch that I have Google Books on my phone, temptation abounds.

Life Instyle Progress Update

With Life Instyle only three weeks away now, there's not much else I can think about. So here's a progress update.

I finished putting my catalogues together last week and can't wait to see them in the flesh.

My new business cards have arrived.

My postcards have arrived.

And truck loads of supplies have been rolling in. This mammoth box of metal came yesterday and my arms are still aching from carrying it home from the post office.

So what's still left to do, quite a lot; line sheets, order forms, newsletter signup sheets, display design. I've lists upon lists upon list all over my desk, walls and computer. Fingers crossed they're coherent.

Life Instyle

There's only five weeks to go until Melbourne's Life Instyle Market and my first trade show. I won't lie, I'm getting nervous. The usual string of panic has started running through my head; will I be ready, have I done enough, will they like me, do I have any clue what I'm doing at all. I'm also crazy excited. This is such a big step for me and Hearsay and I'm really happy and confidant in our new collection.
